Commissioning Zigbee High Security Devices from the Commission Mobile Application

You commission the following Zigbee high security devices from the Commission mobile application when Zigbee network and logical devices are configured on your BACnet/IP controller:

  • RP-SED-WDG-5045

  • RP-SED-WLS-G-5045

  • RP-SED-MTH-G-5045

  • SE8000 Series Controllers

Important:

Device level support is not available in the Commission mobile application unless you first configure the BACnet/IP controller to include Zigbee. You can do so either directly from WorkStation or from an application image which has been downloaded to the controller.

Zigbee support in EcoStruxure Building Operations

EcoStruxure Building Operations supports Zigbee on RP controllers and on automation servers.

Supported Zigbee networks

EcoStruxure Building operation supports the following Zigbee networks:

  • High security network

  • Standard security network

The number of devices on a network is limited to 10.

Zigbee Device Import Files

A Zigbee Device Import file defines the properties of a specific Zigbee device.

RP Controllers Zigbee Differences with Automation Server

While the RP-C Zigbee in the RP-C implementation is similar to the existing automation server Zigbee network implementation, there are some differences.

Commissioning a Zigbee Network Workflow

Commissioning of a Zigbee network on an automation server or RP Series controllers includes creating the network and joining the Zigbee devices.

Automation server

Use this workflow to create a Zigbee network on an automation server.

Alarms in Zigbee IAS Zone Cluster Objects

You create alarms specific to the IAS status of the Zigbee High Security Network in order to monitor Zone status changes in selected zone cluster objects.

Zigbee IAS Zone Cluster

The Intruder Alarm System (IAS) zone standard cluster (cluster ID 0x500) exists in all 3 of these endpoint devices:

  • RP-SED-MTH-G-5045-v3.3-1

  • RP-SED-WDC-G-5045-v3.3-1

  • RP-SED-WLS-G-5045-v3.3-1

RP-C Zigbee Support for SE8000 Room Controllers

RP-C Zigbee supports up to 20 SE8000 room controllers. This support extends only to using display functions and sensor measurements provided by the device. There is no dependency or support for the SE8000 as a field controller.

Zigbee Command Support

In EcoStruxure Building Operation, you may already be familiar with the Zigbee cluster in the automation server. For more information, see Automation Server and RP Controller Zigbee Cluster .

Upgrade Zigbee Device to 4.0

The Zigbee Device import files in EBO 4.0 and higher differs from the type used in EBO 3.x. It is recommended to update the existing devices already running under Zigbee network to access improved stability and possible extended functionality when you upgrade to EBO 4.0 and higher.

You download an Image file to a BACnet/IP controller to download pre-engineered objects to a controller.

To download an Image to a BACnet/IP controller

  1. In the Commission mobile application, in the Device List view, select the BACnet/IP controller you want to download the Image to.

  2. Click Next .

  3. Open the navigation menu and click Download .

  4. On the Download page, select Download Image .

  5. On the Select Image page, go to Step 6 or 7 depending on whether or not you already have an image file on your device.

  6. Click Connect to optionally connect to the Schneider Exchange site to locate an image file to download to your device.

  7. Click Search to open the operating system file explorer to select an image if you already have an image file downloaded to your device.

  8. Once the file is selected, click Next .

  9. Click Download .

  10. When the File Status dialog box indicates that the download has completed successfully, select OK .

    Note:

    If this Image contains any properties that change the IP settings, you must perform an Activate IP Changes restart. For more information, see Device Restart .

To commission Zigbee high security devices from the Commission mobile application

  1. In the Commission mobile application, click I/O Checkout .

  2. On the  I/O Resources  page, click Zigbee High Security Network .

  3. Click Add/Remove Trusted Devices .

  4. Enter the IEEE Address and Install Code of the sensor in order permit a join on the Zigbee network.

  5. Click Add to List to add the sensor as a trusted device.

  6. Click Scan QR Code .

    Note:

    This step is only available for Android and iOS. On Windows 10, you need to manually enter the IEEE Address and Install Code.

  7. Click Clear List if you want to clear the trusted device list without affecting any of the devices currently joined to the network.

    Clearing the device list only affects devices added to the list, but not yet joined to the network.

  8. In the Device List view, click Start Join to join the devices to the network once they have been added to the trusted device list.
