Out of Range Alarms

When setting up an out of range alarm, you configure the normal range of the monitored variable. If the variable goes below the lower limit or above the upper limit of the normal range, the alarm is triggered.

action_zoom_plus_stroke Out of range alarm triggers an alarm when the monitored variable goes outside the configured range.

Out of range alarm triggers an alarm when the monitored variable goes outside the configured range.

For example, you set up an out of range alarm that monitors the temperature in a server room. The alarm is triggered when the temperature goes outside the range of 20 °C to 25 °C (68 °F to 77 °F).

You can configure out of range alarms using shunt variable, time delay, and deadband. For more information, see Alarm Functions .
