The Non-isolated RS-485 Adapter (SXWNISORS48510001) is designed to be used when connecting a BACnet/IP controller that supports reconfiguration for BACnet MS/TP communication to a BACnet MS/TP (RS-485) network. The Non-isolated RS-485 Adapter is used when the BACnet MS/TP (RS-485) network includes non-isolated controllers, such as the b3 BACnet family of zone controllers.

Non-isolated RS-485 Adapter
The adapter converts the BACnet/IP controller RS-485 Com port RJ45 interface to screw terminals, which is required to be able to connect the controller to a BACnet MS/TP network and the RS-485 Com port screw terminals of an automation server.
A separate connection cable is required to connect the adapter to the controller. The cable is not included and needs to be purchased separately.
The RS-485 Adapter can be used with the following BACnet/IP controller models, which support reconfiguration for BACnet MS/TP communication:
MP-V controller models (part numbers):
MP-V-7A (SXWMPV7AX10002 and SXWMPV7AX10003) and MP-V-9A (SXWMPV9AX10002 and SXWMPV9AX10003)
RP-C controller models (part numbers):
RP-C-12A-F-24V (SXWRCF12A10002), RP-C-12B-F-24V (SXWRCF12B10002), RP-C-12C-F-24V (SXWRCF12C10002), RP-C-16A-F-230V (SXWRCF16A10003), RP-C-16B-F-24V (SXWRCF16B10001), and RP-C-16B-F-230V (SXWRCF16B10002)
RP-V controller models (part numbers):
RP-V-4A (SXWRPV4A10001) and RP-V-5A (SXWRPV5A10001)
The BACnet/IP controller needs to be reconfigured to communicate with automation servers based on the BACnet MS/TP protocol, instead of the BACnet/IP protocol.

RS-485 Adapter Device Installation
The RS-485 adapter has a protruding bracket on each long side with a mounting hole to facilitate installation of the device with two screws (not included). The device can also be fastened using cable ties or mounted in line with a cable run. The RS-485 adapter is suitable for plenum use.

.
Non-isolated RS-485 Adapter Connection and Wiring
The Non-isolated RS-485 Adapter is equipped with an RJ45 port for connection to a BACnet/IP controller RS-485 Com port and a 4-position removable screw terminal block for connection to a BACnet MS/TP (RS-485) network.
