RP controller expansion modules interface with RP-C room controllers using the provided room bus.

You can create the following RP controller expansion modules under the room bus:

  • Blind high voltage power module

  • Blind low voltage power module

  • Blind SMI high voltage power module

  • Blind SMI low voltage power module

  • 0-10V light module

  • 0-10V power light module

  • DALI light module

  • DALI power light module

  • Multi-sensor

  • Relay module

  • Relay 10 module

  • Insight-Sensor

For more information, see RP-C Room Bus .

Blind High Voltage Power Module

The blind high voltage power module connects to RP-C room controllers. It is designed to control and supply power to AC mains voltage powered blinds and shutters.

For more information, see RP-C-EXT-BL-4-HV-PD .

Blind Low Voltage Power Module

The blind low voltage power module connects to RP-C room controllers. It is designed to control and supply power to low-voltage (24 VDC) powered blinds and shutters.

For more information, see RP-C-EXT-BL-2-LV-PD .

Blind SMI High Voltage Power Module

The blind SMI high voltage power module connects to the RP-C room controllers and provides I/O expansion for SMI high-voltage blind control.

For more information, see RP-C-EXT-BL-SMI-4-HV-PD .

Blind SMI Low Voltage Power Module

The blind SMI low voltage power module connects to the RP-C room controllers and provides I/O expansion for SMI low-voltage (SMI LoVo) blind control.

For more information, see RP-C-EXT-BL-SMI-2-LV-PD .

0-10V Light Module

The 0-10V light module connects to the RP-C room controllers and provides I/O expansion for 0-10V lighting control. The 0-10V light module enables control of lights equipped with electrical ballasts.

Using the RP-C, you can control lighting through motion detection and light intensity measurement provided by the multi-sensor or by SpaceLogic Sensors connected to the RP-C.

For more information, see RP-C-EXT-0-10V-4 .

0-10V Power Light Module

The 0-10V power light module connects to RP-C room controllers. The 0-10V power light module enables control of lights equipped with electrical ballasts.

Using the RP-C, you can control lighting using motion detection and light intensity measurement provided by the multi-sensor or by SpaceLogic Sensors connected to the RP-C.

For more information, see RP-C-EXT-0-10V-4-PD .

DALI Light Module

The DALI light module connects to the RP-C room controllers and provides I/O expansion for lighting control with DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface). The DALI light module enables control of lights equipped with DALI ballasts (DALI control gear).

Using the RP-C, you control lighting through motion detection and light intensity measurement provided by the multi-sensor or by SpaceLogic Sensors connected to the RP-C.

For more information, see RP-C-EXT-DALI .

DALI Power Light Module

The DALI power light module connects to RP-C room controllers and enables supply and control of lights equipped with DALI ballasts (DALI control gear).

Using the RP-C, you can use motion detection and light intensity measurement provided by the multi-sensor or by SpaceLogic Sensors connected to the RP-C.

For more information, see RP-C-EXT-DALI-M-PD .

Multi-sensor

The multi-sensor connects to the RP-C room controllers and is used for infrared motion detection and luminosity measurements.

For more information, see RP-C-EXT-MS-BLE .

Relay Module

The relay module connects to the RP-C room controllers and enables power supply and control of lights and blinds. You can use the relay module together with RP controller expansion modules that do not have power distribution capability, such as the 0-10V light module and DALI light module.

For more information, see RP-C-EXT-REL-4 .

Relay 10 Module

The Relay 10 (CRS-HH-REL-10) module connects to RP-C room controllers and provides light and blind control. It is included in the Connected Room Solution for Hotels and is specially designed for hotel guest room applications.

For more information, see Relay 10 Module Overview .

For more information, see CRS-HH-REL-10 .

Insight-Sensor

The Insight-Sensor (RP-C-EXT-IS-BLE) connects to RP-C room controllers and includes the features of the current multi-sensor like room-level luminosity calculations and infrared motion detection.

It then extends these features with the following:

  • People counting using a thermal imaging sensor

  • Noise measurements through a microelectromechanical system (MEMS) acoustic sensor

  • Temperature and relative humidity measurements.

Finally, it supports Bluetooth Low Energy-based applications like beaconing and remote control communication. For more information, see RP-C-EXT-IS-BLE .

To commission an Insight-Sensor in the Commission mobile application
  1. In the Commission mobile application, click I/O Checkout .

  2. Click Room Bus .

  3. Click on the Insight-Sensor that you want to commission.

Menu options display for configuring and reading the properties of individual sensors, such as the Ambient Light , Humidity , Passive Infrared , People Count , and Temperature .

  4. Click Ambient Light to read the Ambient light (lux) value.

Notice that this property is greyed out since it is a read-only property.

  5. Configure the other properties here like the Gain , Value offset , Maximum ambient light , and Constant lighting reference .

For more information, see Configuring the RP Controller Expansion Ambient Light Sensor .

  6. Click Save if you want to change any of these values.

You must do so to ensure the new value is sent to the controller.

  7. Click Back and then Humidity to read the Humidity (Rh) relative value in the Insight-Sensor.

  8. Click Back and then Passive Infrared to read the PIR sensor and determine if motion is detected or not.

  9. Press the Refresh button

if motion is detected in order to see the updated value and test that input.

    Note:

Each value you enter is validated and if you attempt to enter an invalid one, information displays on the permitted minimum and maximum values. In addition, the Save button is disabled to prevent you from sending an invalid entry to the controller.

  10. Change the Sensitivity and Reset time values if you wish.

For more information, see Configuring the RP Controller Expansion Passive Infrared Sensor .

  11. Click Back and People Count to configure the properties of the People Count sensor including the Installed height , Refresh background mode , Refresh background time , and Minimum no motion time .

For more information, see Configuring an Insight-Sensor .

  12. Click Back and click Temperature to view the Temperature value of the Insight-Sensor.

This is read-only property. Optionally, you can view the Temperature value in either Fahrenheit or Celsius.

  13. Click F or C to specify your temperature display preference.

Since your selection is an input value only, there is no Save button present on the Temperature Sensor page.
